Automatically transfer to breakout rooms lagging

Having a large meeting today on Zoom and students were assigned breakout rooms that should 

automatically move the participants to a breakout room. There are 150 participants it took a long time for the system to move each participant to their preassigned breakout room. The lag was so bad that we started to move them ourselves. Is this normal for the Zoom system to lag so much on moving participants to their assigned breakout rooms?
