I’m new to using Zoom and still trying to understand its basic features. I’ve recently started attending online meetings and noticed that some people record sessions for later use. However, I’m not sure how this recording process works, who is allowed to record, and where the recordings are saved. Can someone explain in a simple way how to record meetings on Zoom and what steps I need to follow as a beginner?

HI, I am using zoom on linuxno matter what i do i cant get the app icon to appear in the zoom toolbar when in a meetingi have apps available in the main zoom page but not the toolbar in a meeting which means i cant access the timer appi have synced to my online web settings and clicked the enable apps button still nothingcan you help?

The new Zoom update has enabled me to see my scheduled meetings on the right side of my chat window. I don't want to see my scheduled meetings. Does anyone know how to get rid of this view? I just want to see my chats.

Hi All,When I have zoom running on my desktop chat notifications are not showing up on my iphone. When I exit Zoom on the desktop then I get notifications on the iphone.  And yes, I have the “...even if i am active on the desktop” checked in the iphone app settings. 

I have three documents, Word and PDF.  How do I upload those into my zoom meeting so they are available to everyone at the meeting?

Help !!!   I failed to End Meeting after completing a one hour difficult presentation that I was recording on Zoom.   Is there any way to convert this to .MP4 file now.   It shows up in the Document \ Zoom folder local drive;  but the file name shows only "double_click_to_convert_02.zoom"

Recently I always started my meetings by clicking the blue Start button on Meetings tab in desktop zoom client. Now this button has gone. So I have to open the text of invitation, copy and past link into browser there suggestion to open zoom-client appears. Only after that my meeting starts

We have a Zoom account for our Toastmasters Club. I want to give admin access to two of the club officers, in addition to me having it. I have added them as users, but am not clear if they now have admin access. Since I will not be at every meeting due to travel, I want to make certain at least two people at the meeting can run the meeting and have full access. The support desk it not clear on that. Anyone else run into this? We have a Basic account as a non-profit.

does anyone else have trouble with zoom on either on a student level or Telehealth meetings on zoom on the new MacBook Neo? I have uninstalled, installed, used the browser instead of the app and still have trouble with freezing and force shutting down. It's very frustrating! My iPad has zero trouble with using zoom so I've switched to using that for class but unfortunately I use the iPad for notes so I'd love to get to use my MacBook for zoom! any help would be great! I also asked the University tech community to see if they know any tips too.

Hello, I have been googling and searching this and no one has an answer. I have an NEXIGO camera. Auto frame is off for the camera settings itself. This does not happen in OBS, camera, skype, or anything else. ONLY in Zoom. I want to know how to turn off auto frame. It happens on every device. I'm sick of Zoom mods saying it's the camera when It's obviously in Zoom. I'm not sure how to turn this off. I have acting classes and keep getting yelled at for it moving. Please tell me how to turn it off. 

Can anyone tell me how to record a meeting I have a Live session coming up that I am setting up for a client and she wants to record it if possible - we only have the free version and I have seen 'Clips' is available but what would be best and how do you do it please to record the whole 40 minute session? many thanks. I have tried searching and found the guideline but it states to go in to Account management and account settings - which i don't have and something about Admin rights - which I don't believe I have on a free account? Help....

I am attending my first zoom event, and I don’t see any sort of microphone option. I wish there was something confirming that I am muted. Does anyone know if the lack of any sort of mic display means that no one can hear me? I completely muted my computer mic after a minute but I’m just curious.

The presentation will be for two hours as mock presentation which is is scholary work

We are trying to get users to join a webinar without the Zoom link but rather with the meeting ID but we get Error Code 13218 and we do not know how to troubleshoot it. Is it just a feature that is not allowed when doing webinars? 

I originally had a paid Zoom account, but after my subscription expired, it reverted to a free account. Now that I've resubscribed to a paid plan, I can’t seem to find my cloud recordings. However, my cloud storage shows that it’s already 95% full. How can I locate my cloud recordings and free up storage space?

When I am on a Zoom call I have it set up on half of my screen. Whenever I open or close chat in a meeting the zoom window resizes and changes position. When chat is opened, instead of resizing the elements within the zoom window to create room for the chat window, the entire Zoom window resizes, adding on the width to display the chat. When chat is closed, the Zoom window resizes to the original size, but it's screen positioning is shifted left. Fix: Do not change the window size when chat is opened. Zoom window sized to half of the screen: When chat is opened, Zoom window width increases to fit chat.  When chat is closed, Zoom window width returns to original width, but stays aligned to where it expanded to the left. Edit: Same experience with participants. 

I’ve noticed recently that Zoom Workplace will be unable to send files/images for 1-2 minutes. It eventually sends after retrying several times, but the strange thing is that I can’t figure out what’s triggering the issue as it only happens every now and then throughout the day (this does happen at least once a day). I’m on version 7.1.8 and this started approximately 45 days ago.Edit 9/22/2026: I tried via the web app when the issue occurred this morning and it had the same behavior. Once the desktop app allowed sending images, the web app did as well. 

There is no video under settings showing on my account. I am unable to change to preview my video before starting.

(I see discussions on this topic, but all are 3 years or more old)  (My org has a “Workplace PRO” account.) We are looking at hosting webinars with participants in China - large cities with generally adequate internet access.  I have read the advice in a Zoom support document to “opt in” to using the China datacenter.  Is this still a thing?  When navigating to the list of datacenters, there is no choice for “China”.  In 2026, to register and attend a webinar, would a participant in China need to download the Zoom.cn version of the individual app - and be required to enter a valid China phone number?thanks 

  For a couple of weeks, my Zoom Workspace client freezes for a couple of seconds after almost every interaction with it.  If I manage it into the meeting room, the meeting itself is almost issue-free. During a freeze, GNOME opens a window offering me to terminate Zoom Workspace (or to wait for it). Thus, the message queue is not processed by Zoom anymore in these moments.The technical support has been unresponsive so far. Google search suggests that if at all, only very few other people experience the same problem. Thus, something in my elaborate Debian configuration is in conflict with Zoom Workspace.How can I proceed, possibly finding the problem by myself? Can one activate log files or enable debug output on the command line?My basic configuration:Debian 13 GNOME 48 Wayland AMD graphics

Zoom Workplace, up to date version. If I open settings window, it stays atop of all other windows making use of other apps impossible.When I tap on View More Settings, a browser opens and... I can't use it, because the original Settings window blocks me from it.What is the sacred logic that I am unable to understand, is behind this?
