We use alternative hosts to help with meeting/webinar management. However, the alternative hosts are unable to see the meetings/webinars in their dashboard. So if the creator host needs a change made quickly but does not have access to their computer, the alternative host is unable to make the change. This is extremely frustrating. Also, if the host is unable to make a meeting, the alternative host can’t make changes or cancel the meeting.

We are running into the same problem. I am an alternative host, but I don't see the meetings in my upcoming meetings on my dashboard. It would only make sense that once I accept the invite, it would be added to my upcoming meetings. Can't figure it out.

Correct adding someone as an alternative host does not grant them the ability to view the Zoom meeting in their upcoming meetings dashboard. You could share the credentials with them directly in an email. If you want to allow alternative hosts to view their meetings including meetings they are an alternative host for in a dashboard format there is a Zoom app, Salepager, that lets you manage alternative hosts in this way as well as transfer ownership.
