Video screen goes dark then light and video screen also goes black

Hello,

I just purchased my mother a new Lenovo Idea pad AMD Ryzen 7-7730 and she is having the following issues: the video screen will continue to go dark then light as if someone is turning the light switch on/off.  Also, sometimes the video screen will go

black.

I contacted Lenovo, and they stated the last few days several users have contacted them and reported a black screen during Zoom.  Lenovo has tested the issue, and it does not appear to be a hardware issue; it appears to be an issue with the Zoom application and to contact Zoom. My mom doesn't have a need for a Zoom Pro account so Zoom telephone support is not going to help her.

Has anyone else had this issue and found a resolution? Any help is greatly appreciated!! 😊

I do 4 different Zoom meetings on 2 different Lenovo mini computers (Intel CPU) connected via ethernet each week with no such issue. Sounds like a possible bandwidth issue because of using WiFi. Use of Wifi is NOT RECOMMENDED because of instability issues. Since you did not give specific Zoom version, laptop model number and OS and other configuration details it is difficult to give a specific answer.

These last few months after the most recent update zoom is constantly doing this and no explanation why...never used to fail and have to close and restart and now it seems every other meeting I have it fails and has to shutdown zoom and restart...Not sure why it's been happening I have a brand new laptop thats 5 months old this has been happening since October. Also says Im in the meeting when I'm not in the meeting and zoom goes white and needs to restart. And constantly sending reports to zoom for issues.

Hello. For reference, my mom had the

'Lenovo Ideapad Slim 3 AMD Ryzen 7-7730U'. Thinking it was a lemon I went and got her a 'Lenovo - Ideapad 1 Full Ryzen 7 with Windows 11.' When it happen on the second Laptop I contacted Lenovo and they said other customers mentioned the same issue. I hope Zoom is trying to do something about it because Lenovo thru the ball in Zoom's court.

It's not a simple video issue not working. When I click join meeting sometimes it stays gray but the meeting doesn't open..sometimes I'm in a meeting and video and audio is working fine and I go to admit the attendee from the waiting room and the entire meeting turns gray and notifies me it has to close the meeting and I get kicked out then when I try to rejoin the join meeting button is gray out and doesn't let me join. I've logged out of my account and logged back in and still the same the only resolution I have found is to restart my device and rejoin the meeting then it lets me join but the meeting is still active and open with the attendee sitting in the waiting room and the meeting alerts me that I am now host which I would of thought if I get kicked out of a meeting that I created and I'm the host and no one else is in the meeting since I wasn't able to admit the attendee then the meeting would be closed but no the meeting is still ongoing like I was always in the meeting and it never shutdown and kicked me out. These issues have been constant and persistant since the last update in October and stated previously I've had my new Lenovo laptop for atleast 5 months now and been using zoom almost constantly everyday since 2020 and never had these issues before. I am on zoom constantly everyday for short minutes most of the time no more than a few minutes.

Hello,

Sorry about that. She has a Lenovo Ideapad Slim 3 AMD Ryzen 7-7730U

with Windows 11. Zoom vs. 6.3 is installed. I did consider the wi-fi and her being too far from the router. Unfortunately, using an ethernet cable isn't an option. Thanks
