I usually zoom on imac. Once I zoomed on iphone and opened video on iphone. Now on the Mac there is no video until I manually press “detach video” button on my iphone. This occurs EVERY time, even when I deleted the Zoom app from my phone

Are you using the same account?
Are you using iPhone for zoom, it sound like you are using the iPhone as the camera for the Mac.

Sounds like apple is assuming you want the iPhone as your camera. Zoom can only use what Apple gives it.

Ugh, video troubles between your iPhone and iMac, that's a pain! Okay, so first things first, are we talking about FaceTime, iMessage video, or something else entirely? Knowing that helps narrow things down.

Sometimes, it's just a simple connection hiccup. Have you tried restarting both your phone and your iMac? That often clears up weird glitches. Also, double-check that both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network – sometimes switching networks can cause issues.

If it's FaceTime or iMessage, make sure you're both signed in with the same Apple ID. And it sounds obvious, but check that your Wi-Fi is actually working properly – try browsing the web on both devices to make sure. A weak signal can definitely mess with video quality.

For other video types, like if you're trying to share a video file, the size of the file might be an issue. Huge files can be tricky to transfer. You could try compressing the video a bit before sending it. Or, if it's a really big file, maybe using a cloud service like iCloud or Dropbox would work better.

Also, just a thought, sometimes software updates can cause temporary glitches. Make sure both your iPhone and iMac are running the latest software, but if the problem started after an update, it might be worth checking online to see if others are having similar issues. Apple sometimes releases quick fixes for those.
