Using Full frame camera as webcam

Using a Sony full frame camera as a webcam. Connects very easily but when using it beyond 40-50mm the picture on zoom becomes blurry. It looks perfectly fine on the camera monitor but zoom doesn't seem to like anything beyond a specific distance. Has anyone tested this?

I don't think Zoom has any idea what the lens is zoomed in/out to. My guess would be that you're looking at your video through Zoom on a laptop of desktop monitor (larger) and comparing it to the small in-camera monitor which can in fact hide moments of being out of focus much later than when looking at the same image on a larger screen. To that point, if this is the case, I would check to see if your auto-focus is set to ON or OFF. And depending on the model of the Sony they can do a great job tracking your eyes for auto-focus.
