I am the host of my meetings and intially I used to be able to record my meetings. Now I can't seem to record my meetings because everytime I click record, I get the error message "Recording features can't be started unless the host has joined". What do I do?

That error — “Recording features can’t be started unless the host has joined” — usually means Zoom doesn’t recognize you as the host of the meeting, even though you set it up. A few things could be happening:
1. Check if you’re really the host
When you join, look for the "Host" label beside your name in the Participants list.
Make sure you’re signed into the same Zoom account that scheduled the meeting before clicking the join link.
2. Verify recording permissions in your settings
Go to Zoom web portal → Settings → Recording and confirm both Local recording and/or Cloud recording are enabled.
On some accounts, your admin may have disabled recording or restricted it.
3. Update your Zoom Workplace
If you’re on an old client, recording permissions sometimes bug out. Updating to the latest version usually clears that.
You may also try a quick test -
Start an instant meeting (not a scheduled one). If recording works there, the issue is likely with your scheduled meeting’s host assignment or settings.
