Hi there,
When I create a recurring I set the meeting ID to my personal ID, then I set the reoccurring settings and the meet ID defaults to a random ID that I don't want to use and my group isn't familiar with.
I tried this multiple times.
This used to work so I assume it is bug?

Welcome to the Zoom Community, @SDenny.
Recurring meetings can’t use the PMI, unless they are set with “No fixed time”. The management of the recurring series and the individual meetings depends on having a unique ID.
See the Notes in this Zoom Support article:

I used to be able to set reoccurring meeting dates - now I cannot control the meeting dates. only one date is allowed, the first date used with no fixed date... why is this. zoom's platform sold me two different plans, neither of which solved my issues. how can i use the reoccuring meetings with no fixed date, and set up a series of individual meetings in advance using the same id and passcode?

I am having the same issue. I did this last year and now I am trouble figuring it out. Did you resolve this issue? thank you

I’m not entirely sure what changed initially, but I was eventually able to get things working again after a lot of trial and error—stepping away and starting over helped. I was able to recreate recurring meetings (possibly after a Zoom-side fix), but the waiting room features we previously used were no longer available under our existing subscription.
To regain similar functionality, I had to cancel our subscription and purchase a different plan. Unfortunately, with Zoom’s updates and tier changes, some features that were once included—such as customized waiting room instructions and document uploads—were removed or shifted to higher-priced plans. Since we use Zoom infrequently, the time required to sort this out for a limited number of meetings was substantial and frustrating.
More importantly, for scheduled Board meetings, we learned that relying on features that can change or disappear—especially when Zoom access is offered only as a courtesy—can create unexpected liability for the corporation. In the past, misunderstandings tied to Zoom functionality led to complaints and false allegations, which then required legal involvement to address.
For these reasons, we’re being more cautious about how Zoom is used and represented, and why in-person attendance remains the most reliable option when possible.
