Hi I want to record a video of myself with close captures on .....NOT in a meeting just myself. How do I do that ?

Well, you have to start a meeting first in order to have access to begin the recording. Just start a meeting, turn-on your audio and video, and start your local recording.

I got the CC working but when I record it and then replay the closed captures are not there anymore. They are on a separate text file. Is there a way to record on Zoom with Close Captions integrated in the recording?

I don't think Zoom will create an Open Captions (burned-in captions) recording. Best practices leans to Closed Captions which allow the viewer to turn them on or off. YouTube supports VTT files, Adobe Premiere, VLC player, almost all major players and editors support the vtt files.

You could certainly load your recording into a video editor, along with the vtt caption file and then export it with the captions burned-in.
