I'm a public speaking instructor, and hold live Zoom sessions to listen to my students' speeches. I have my settings set up so that participants can record on their computers, and I can also record to the Cloud. Last year, everything worked just fine...but now, for some reason none of the students are able to record on their computers, even though the program says, "Recording in progress." I'm NOT intentionally recording their speeches unless they get a notice that they can't record from their end...and yet, their speeches are recording to the Cloud, but not recording on their end. Anyone have an idea of what's going on?

Hello,
From the sound of it when you record to the cloud it goes to the host of the meeting's account. No other user would be able to access the cloud recording, but you could share the recording after the recording has processed if you like. If local recording is enabled, users should have the ability to locally record a meeting to their device. I would advise checking out the following articles to make sure your settings are configured to allow local recording from participants in your meetings.

I'm so sorry to be just now responding to your suggestions, Jake. The problem with all 3 of these articles is that they presume I have admin privileges...which I guess I don't. I use Zoom through my college's account, which mean that they are the admins: my navigation menu doesn't show "Account Management." (I've attached a screenshot of my menu.) I've checked & double-checked my settings, and under "Settings" and "Recording," the "Record to computer files" is on. Under "Who can request host permission to record?" I've checked both "Internal participants" and "Auto-approve"...yet when my students click on "Record," they get a popup that says they must ask the host for permission to record. Back when I first started using Zoom, as the host I would get a popup asking for my permission, to which I could answer yes...but now, I get no popup. My only solution is for me to record to the cloud, then send each student a link to their recording. That's not a huge issue...but it would be much better if they could record to their own computers.
