Is anyone having a hard time with ManyCam as a virtual camera?
Zoom is not recognizing ManyCam at all. Does anyone know how to fix it?

Hello,
This is not a Zoom issue, but rather a Manycam and Sonoma issue.
if you go to the Manycam community support forum you will see other Manycam users are having the same issue in Teams, Facebook, Google hangouts and other applications.
Sonoma had a security ‘upgrade’ that creates the issue If the app developer (Manycam in this case) uses legacy system extensions.
Until Manycam updates their software the only fix is in this Apple support document.

It’s a cash grab.
I paid more money, on top of many many silly, overlapping and disingenuous ManyCam licenses… and presto, it works again. Meaning ManyCam knows, but doesn’t care, and is using Apple’s change as, yet another cash call.

That did not work when I tried it. But maybe Zoom has done an update, so I will try it again. Thank you. Also, ManyCam is not honoring their “lifetime“ agreement with the updates so that’s a sad story as well

Indeed, ManyCam is playing dirty.

Can someone recommend a Virtual Camera App like ManyCam but that actually has done (in the 10 months since Apple posted " https://support.apple.com/en-us/108387 ") what Apple instructed? That is to:
"If you can't select and use your camera or video output device because it uses older software, contact the device maker to learn whether an updated version of their software using camera extensions is available or planned."
Are you saying @ETS that ManyCam HAS addressed this issue In "BETA" but withheld the fix from Users of ManyCam Studio - Lifetime & ManyCam Lifetime, both versions 7 and 8?
But to repeat, the "Beta ManyCam release" will comply with Sonoma MacOS14 & MacOS15's "modern system extensions"?
I'm losing my mind. My new computer M3Max is a brick, while the 12 year old machine sings.
ManyCam is brutal.
Any suggestions of real companies who have responded to Apple not as a cash grab?

Anyone else notice a serious request for assistance is being ignored by Zoom ?
i have started using OBS but it does not compare to manycam. Better than nothing since the “fix” doesn’t fix anything. Good luck y’all

I had the same problem as y'all. Downloading the latest Zoom Workplace, which claims to be Version 6.1.11 (39163) but which IIRC was called "version 9 beta" at the download site, worked for me just fine. There were a couple of peculiarities with giving security permissions to the new libraries or features or something, but nothing out of the ordinary. Hope it works for you!
