I'm trying to record myself without scheduling an actual meeting. I'm told that I simply go to the home page after clicking the app, then click the 'new meeting' button. There is no such button there. Instead there's a button that says 'back to meeting' in addition to the other buttons (join, schedule, share screen).
Is the 'new meeting' button only available to paid users or is there some other reason I can't access it?

I guess that you should upgrade your Zoom client app version to the latest version. See, https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362233-Upgrading-Zoom-to-the-latest-version
