Audio is repeating words/sounds

I'm having a strange audio issue. I'm in a meeting where one user has a conference microphone in a room, and occasionally, the sound from the room starts repeating. As in, someone from the room will say "oh wow okay", and immediately after other users will hear "oh wow okay" again, identically, coming from the same room. Weirdly, it's not just the audio that's repeating - we're also seeing the repetition in the transcript: "0 wow, okay, oh wow, okay". It happens with incidental noises in the room as well.

As far as we can tell, no other users in the meeting are having this problem when they are speaking. We fixed it once for the room by ending and restarting the Zoom meeting, but now after several restarts, we're still getting this repetition. I'm trying not to call it an "echo" because it's not like the feedback loop you'd get from a speaker getting picked up on a mic in the same room - it's sporadic repeats of words and sounds.

Has anyone else ever run into this problem? Is there a better solution than turn-it-off-and-back-on-again?

I'm sorry about the late response and welcome to the Zoom Community.

First, kindly double check if someone in the room is also logged in on the meeting and has their mic turned on,.

Most of the time the feedback happens when multiple attendees are in one room and two or more has their microphone turned on.

Mark - I have had a situation occur where the audio is stuck in a loop. Changing mics, swapping audio options, reentering the meeting, nor quitting Zoom does not remedy. I must completely restart my computer and rejoin to make it stop. 

It's the most random of errors and not related to screen share or other repeated actions on my part. 

My colleague captured it today and shared the clip but I don't have a means of sharing here. 

Any other suggestions on trouble shooting? I am on the latest update and this has occurred once every 3-6 months. A total of maybe 5-10 times max.

We had this issue too, yesterday. It’s not feedback. It’s a looping of the audio so that it repeats indefinitely. The sound gets stuck on a loop and then repeats like a broken record. It sounds like an audio glitch in the Zoom software. Do you have an explanation and fix for this issue?

I have the same problem. It's not echo or feedback, it's as mhill and Tavius have said, an audio loop of a few seconds that repeats ad nauseam. What's the solution?

Hello there! I'm sorry for the late response. We would advise following these steps:
1. Disable any audio control software like MaxxAudio, Bang & Olufsen, LG Smart Assistant, or similar programs on your computer.
2. Update your audio drivers to ensure they are up to date.
3. Disable any audio enhancements on your computer that may be affecting the audio output.

If the issue persists, please submit a support ticket to our technical team, including the date, meeting ID, and time for further assistance.

I found a temporary fix. open the zoom settings and click on the audio tab. that stopped it for me
