Listing of Tracks in the Filter for Zoom Events

I have a number of tracks defined for a particular event. When I display the filters on the "Sessions" page, the Tracks are all listed in a random order. Its not alphabetical, nor is it the order that they were created - its just odd.

Is it possible to define the order the tracks are displayed? Or at a minimum, have them sorted in alphabetical order?

Also, it would be ideal if you could edit a track name and have it apply to all sessions. Imagine the use case where I decided to rename a track - as I understand it, currently I would have to individually edit every session in that track.

Thanks

Hi, @k_palmer.

I agree the Track feature could be beefed up a bit. I’ll check with some of my Zoom Events “insider” contacts and see if they agree.

There’s no reason it couldn’t be handled like Speakers, allowing some “Featured Tracks” like Keynotes, Special Guests, etc., and then being able to arrange them in order. This approach might require a “Track Management” page, this would allow for brief track names along with a brief description of each track.

Even a change to just sort the tracks alphabetically would be a useful (and hopefully straightforward) enhancement.

hi @k_palmer this is a great recommendation. We have converted this post into a feature request for the product engineering team to examine. Appreciate you bringing this up!

@k_palmer and @joshbrage_ZE:

See my new post here about the recent change to how the Track Filter is displayed:

Looks like its based on the order of the sessions.

For my event I have a plenary at 09:00 and then 5 parallel tracks (Track A, Track B, ...) start at 11:00. The Plenary always showed first, then the others shifted around.

A workaround for me was to make the tracks start a second after each other. e.g. Track A at 11:00:01, Track B 11:00:02. This won't help if the tracks start at different times.

Interesting observation, @SamT!

I’ll check some other events and see if that tracks for them (sorry for the pun!)
