Yealink VP59 is locked up and requesting "Please import the license"

I was following the instructions to convert my Yealink VP59 to a Zoom appliance and got to a point where the phone rebooted and is now locked up.  The phone boots up, tells me the firmware that I was told to install is already on the phone, and then presents me with a screen that says "Please import the license" and I cannot do anything with the phone now.  Does anyone know how to import the license that can help me?

Hi!

Yes, you will need to go to license.yealink.com , create an account and then register the VP59 to get a license. You'll receive a DAT file by email from Yealink. Connect to the phone's web interface by IP address from your computer, and you'll find a place to upload the license. I believe that the phone then rebooted and it was set to go after that. Sorry, it has been a while since I did it.

I hope that helps!

FORE-Craig,

I found the answer to my question on Yealink's website and just successfully connected to my Yealink phone!  For anyone reading this who is not familiar with the syntax for connecting to your Yealink VP59 phone's web interface it is https://<your phone's ip address here>/api#/status-general.  The default Yealink username/password is 'admin'.

Thank you for this assistance.  Perhaps you can tell me the proper syntax for connecting to my phone’s web interface as I have already registered and downloaded the Permanent license but can’t seem to figure out how to connect to the phone with my browser?

I'm happy that you found it. I'm just seeing this now. You reply just need the https:// plus the IP address, it will default to the correct login page. So, is your VP59 up and running now in Zoom Phone Appliance mode now?

Craig

When I had originally put https://<ip address of phone> in to my browser it didn't take me to the login page of the phone.  It... and get it working.  Thanks for all your help with this!

My pleasure!  Feel free to reach out if you have questions about ZPA on the VP59. I know all of the quirks, or most of them anyway that you won't see in the Zoom support documentation. The most important one though is if you are making number selections on an IVR, make sure that you select the Keypad window in the Zoom app of the display, otherwise the physical number button presses on the phone won't be recognized. It took Zoom support several months to figure that out.

Hi,

In my case after the phone got rebooted, it loses the network hence I can't do anything again on license.yealink.com. Any idea?

Thanks

Hi @PaRay

You should go to license.yealink.com on a computer. Is the VP59 connected to your network via an ethernet cable?

Craig

No, It's connected to a wifi. It won't even allow me access the menu page again. If I reboot it takes me back to this page.

Hi @PaRay

That is expected behavior until the VP59 has a License added to it.

I see that it is showing an IP address (172.28.0.23) on the screen.

You should:

  • Type in https://172.28.0.23 into an internet browser on your computer in order to connect to the web interface of the phone.
  • Log into the web interface using Admin for username and Admin for password.
  • Once logged in, you will be able to upload the license file from your computer downloads that you received by email from Yealink after going to the Yealink licensing site.

😊

Craig

You are the best brother. I smashed it today. Thanks so much. 😆

Setting up the Yealink VP59 as Zoom Phone Appliance, I had this problem too. I went round several times with Yealink support and could not connect to the device via web browser every time.

Eventually, looking at the Zoom device management, I edited the device and saw a setting to permit the web interface for admins, it was set to off. I set that to on and rebooted the device, then I could connect!

Hope this helps someone...
