Using mouse control on ipad

I was testing a zoom meeting on my computer and ipad.  I turned on mouse control, but when I tried to use it on my ipad nothing was working.  I saw the mouse icon, but I wasn't able to move anything on the screen.  Am I missing something?

I have a similar problem. I give control of the screen to a student who uses an iPad and then they can never use the mouse or track pad. Their controled mouse never moves.

I saw those instructions in the help icon.  I could move the mouse icon, but nothing on the screen
