Changing your permanent contacts display names

Hello,

As an educator, I have multiple permanent students as contacts. They write whatever they want in the profile which makes it really hard for me sometimes to locate them and to remember what it is that they are learning with me. On Skype, I can mark students with names that I recognize and useful details straight in their profile name for my display.

I expected this feature to become perhaps available when I upgraded, which doesn't seem to be at all an option on zoom.

Is this in the works ? As I'm sure it would be highly valuable to those of us with many permanent contacts.

Hi Maria, are these contacts in the same account as you or do these students have their own standalone Zoom accounts? If they are in the same Zoom account there are a few things you can do to limit their ability to change their display names under the security section (just make sure you have admin privileges or have an admin makes these changes:

check the boxes to limit these changes to admins.
