On April 16, between 2:25 P.M. ET and 4:12 P.M. ET, the domain zoom.us was not available due to a server block by GoDaddy Registry. This block was the result of a communication error between Zoom’s domain registrar, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy Registry, which resulted in GoDaddy Registry mistakenly shutting down zoom.us domain. Zoom, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy worked quickly to identify and remove the block, which restored service to the domain zoom.us. There was no product, security or network failure at Zoom during the outage. GoDaddy and Markmonitor are working together to prevent this from happening again.

New zoom account for a civic organization

I would like to set up a zoom account for a civic organization. A pro plan is sufficient for our needs, but we do not want to have the account owned by a single individual. Can a pro account be established for a group?

Welcome to the Zoom Community, @GinaM1.

There is one owner for an account at the organizational level. There might be multiple user logins. It is against Zoom’s Terms of Service to share login credentials among many people to access one user login.

Each person requiring the ability to schedule and conduct meetings requires an account. A Basic account is free, but limited to 40 minutes in a single meeting. A Licensed account is paid. See Zoom’s pricing page for details.
