Can't receive PDF in chat on iPhone or iPad

On a Zoom meeting yesterday, as the host I sent a PDF to participants via the chat function. Participants using a computer received the PDF but those using and iPhone or iPad for the call did not have the PDF come through in their chat. Why is this? ...
