Zoom automatically shuts down after about a minute.

When I join Zoom, it automatically closes after about one minute. I have tried switching my internet connection by using a hotspot, and I have also tried joining from a different device, but the problem persists. Zoom keeps closing automatically after one minute. Could you please explain what might be causing this and suggest possible solutions?

Hi Emilyparkkk,

There are several reasons on why your zoom automatically closes after 1 minute. Based on what you have shared, most common reason is Account-Level Restriction of the meeting.

This often happens when:

  • The meeting requires “Only authenticated users can join”

  • Your account is signed out, suspended, or conflicted

  • You are logged in with the wrong Zoom account/email

You need to

  • Sign out of Zoom completely

  • Sign back in using the same email/domain the meeting expects

  • If it’s a work meeting, ensure you’re signed in via SSO, not email/password

  • Ask the host:

    • Is authentication required?

    • Is the meeting restricted to internal users?

Also, Possible cause is Corrupt Zoom Client or Background Service Crash

  • Uninstall Zoom

  • Restart your device

  • Install the latest Zoom Workplace version

  • Sign in before joining any meeting
