Zoom STILL not launching on older AMD processors

Ever since Zoom 5.16, 64Bit will not launch on older AMD processors. This is a known issue across multiple users and devices, which was reported almost a year ago.

32 bit will launch, but it is laggy and does not work well on my system. Since Zoom is now forcing an update, it is impossible for me to use the desktop client.

I am unable to submit a support ticket, because apparently that is only available to paid users. I would like to see this issue resolved.

I had the same issue ever since recent upgrade to zoom workplace - kept receiving error message that CHIP ARM device is required.   worked fine prior to upgrade. Here's my own research and conclusion:  My Lenovo tablet is android 7.1.1, after checking with Lenovo they said it runs on intel atom x 86 architecture and go back to zoom.    No help or advice from Zoom other than to submit feedback and unable to submit ticket as I'm not a business user (but people who set up meetings are).  Can only join on phone now or I'm forced to buy a new tablet with later technology (annoying as tablet works fine).  Very frustrating that zoom don't give any notice that this will happen and don't offer a fix for older devices to continue working.  when I first posted 2 days ago a lot of people had read my problem but now that's disappeared and no-one has posted a solution.

The issue is discussed in this post: https://community.zoom.com/t5/Zoom-Meetings/Client-5-16-0-5-16-5-Broken-on-64Bit-AMD/m-p/150541

On 12/15/23, a user reported, "The issue with Zoom 5.16.x 64Bit not being able to run on older AMD processors has been identified by support and should be resolved with Zoom 5.17.5 release," but it is still not fixed. So support is aware of the issue, but has not resolved it.
