Feature Request to Enhance Webinar Experience in Zoom

Dear Zoom Team,

As a loyal customer for several years, we’ve greatly benefited from your webinar add-on. It has been instrumental in helping us host professional webinars with high-quality equipment and excellent speakers.

I’m writing to suggest a feature that I believe could further enhance the experience for both hosts and participants, taking webinars to an even more professional level.

When we invite external speakers, it would be incredibly useful to have the option to place them – or the existing participants – in a separate waiting room. This would allow us to test audio, video, and other technical setups without disrupting the participants in the main webinar. This way, attendees won’t be exposed to conversations between sessions or any technical checks.

Once everything is ready, the speaker could then be seamlessly brought into the main webinar, where participants can see and hear them without interruptions.

I hope you’ll consider this feature, as it could significantly improve the smoothness and professionalism of webinar experiences.

Zoom Webinars already have a feature like this - Backstage.

Webinar Backstage is a feature that provides a virtual green room for hosts, co-hosts, and panelists to meet privately before, during, and after a webinar. It allows panelists to enter this backstage area before the webinar begins and even multiple times during a webinar. Panelists in the backstage can still view and hear the live session, enabling them to follow the presentation and know when it's their cue to rejoin.

Prerequisites for using Webinar Backstage

• A webinar scheduled with Webinar Backstage enabled
  Note: To enable and use Webinar Backstage, you must have a Zoom Events/Sessions license (Zoom Events Unlimited license or Zoom Events Pay Per Attendee license; or, Zoom Sessions Unlimited or Zoom Sessions Pay Per Attendee license). Please note that Pay Per Attendee (PPA) licensed users can use this feature only in their Zoom Sessions and Zoom Events. PPA does not allow users to use this feature on the Zoom web portal—they can only use it on the Zoom Events portal.
• Zoom desktop client for Windows, macOS, or Linux: Global minimum version or higher
• Zoom mobile app for Android or iOS: Global minimum version or higher
• Zoom Rooms for Windows, macOS, Appliances, or iPad: version 6.0.0 or higher
