Did you mean:

through a zoom meeting vid has horrible quality.

It's a 640-480 vid.

Once it's played through a zoom meeting the quality suffers considerably.

Near-optimum-conditions. Using RG-45 connexion.

It is an MP4

Any suggestion would be greatly appreaciated, thanks.

Can you confirm whether you are:

a.) Playing the file on your desktop and then sharing the desktop or media player application via Zoom

or

b.) Clicking Share Screen, then Advanced, then Video and playing the actual file through Zoom

Can you provide the steps you're using to share the video? There are a handful of ways to do this, each with their own pros/cons.

Sure, thanks.

While I'm live in a meeting I share my screen and point to the video in question which resides on my desktop.

That's helped enormously.
