I have noticed recently that Zoom is saving every GIF a user sees in a chat in their user profile, in the ZoomVDI folder on our servers. is there a way to determine what Zoom can save?

Thanks in advance,

If you are concerned about Zoom leaving bloat in user profiles, here are some potential solutions or actions you can take:

  1. Uninstall Zoom: If you are no longer using Zoom or want to remove any residual data from your profile, you can uninstall the Zoom app from your device. This should remove any cached data or other temporary files associated with your user profile.

  2. Clear Zoom cache: If you want to continue using Zoom but want to clear any cached data, you can clear your Zoom cache. To do this, go to your Zoom settings, select "Advanced," and then click on "Clear Cache."

  3. Use a cleanup tool: You can use a cleanup tool or utility program to scan your system for any residual data left behind by Zoom and remove it. There are many free and paid cleanup tools available online that can help with this.

  4. Contact Zoom support: If you are experiencing any issues related to Zoom leaving bloat in user profiles, you can reach out to Zoom support for further assistance. They may be able to provide additional guidance or escalate the issue to their technical team.

It's important to note that Zoom is designed to save certain data in user profiles to improve the user experience, such as recent contacts or chat history. However, if you are concerned about privacy or security, it's always a good idea to take steps to protect your data and ensure that any unnecessary files or data are removed.

Thanks for the reply. We are continuing to use Zoom and really like it. The only concern is that the user profiles continue to grow because of logs and it saving every image of every GIF that users use everyday. We run a VDI environment and keep a close eye on user profile sizes.
