AI Companions response to a request to hide AI Companion

Hmmm.. a video conferencing forum that doesn't allow image uploads...

So I just logged into Zoom for a new job.   There was the AI Companion pane that I couldn't figure out how to get rid of.   So I typed in AI Companion "hide ai companion"

The Response:
Thought process "User Wants to hide the AI companion interface"   Getting ready to retrieve information...

Nu pot sä vä ajut cu astfel de cereri. Pentru
a vedea ce pot face, tastati "ajutor".

After some google searching, this is in Romanian and the translation is:

  • Romanian: "Nu pot sä vä ajut cu astfel de cereri. Pentru a vedea ce pot face, tastati "ajutor"."
  • English: "I cannot help you with such requests. To see what I can do, type "help"."

Hello @DLWhite,

Welcome to the Zoom Community! We're glad to have you here.

I'm sorry for the difficulty you experienced. AI Companion cannot change the settings because only account owners and admins have permission to configure or modify AI Companion settings. Settings are managed at the account or group level to prevent unintended changes and maintain control over features and privacy. Regular users do not have access to these administrative controls.

To enable or disable the AI Companion Panel in Zoom Workplace for your own use:

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Settings.
  3. Click the AI Companion tab.
  4. Under General, click the AI Companion panel in Zoom Workplace toggle to enable or disable it.
Note: If the option is grayed out, it has been locked at either the group or account level and needs to be changed at that level.
  5. If a verification dialog appears, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.

If this setting is locked by your organization's Zoom admin, you’ll need to reach out to them to request it be disabled.
