Can't start or join zoom meetings, issue with speaker

All of a sudden, I can't start a meeting.  I get a blue circle like it's working on starting and then says, it can't detect my speaker.  My speaker IS broken on my computer but I've been using an external  speaker without issue until now.  I tried to join a meeting and got a message "Can't detect microphone" but when I click "test speaker and microphone" I get the circling blue that never stops.  Any ideas?

  • Go to the bottom right corner and right click on the speaker icon and choose "Open sound setting".
  • Then go to "Microphone privacy setting".
  • After going to that particular setting then on the top you will see "Allow access to the microphone on this device", click on "change".
    "turn on" microphone access to this device.
  • Restart your system.
