Having multiple Panelists groups in one Webinar

Can multiple panellist groups be created in one webinar, say panelists1, panelists2, etc.?
This will make it easy to remove a group when they are no longer needed.

Welcome to the Zoom Community, @Legit

This function isn’t available natively in Zoom.

If you are interested in spending some time investigating some additional tools, you can perform some amazing automation with them:

  • First, you’ll need ZoomOSC from Luminal Entertainment Technologies. (Zoom acquired this company.) Go to https://www.liminalet.com/zoomosc for info. There is a paid option to ZoomOSC, but you can do most of the magic with the free version.
  • Next, you’ll need a Stream Deck. I have a 32-button Stream Deck, and while you can get by with a smaller unit, you’ll want the larger one for the tasks you’ll be doing. See https://www.elgato.com/us/en/p/stream-deck-xl
  • The standard software that runs on the Stream Deck is good, but doesn’t perform the functions you’ll need. Many of us use Bitfocus Companion, free software that really is the heart of the magic you seek!  See https://bitfocus.io/companion

If you go this route, expect to take several weeks (off and on) to get comfy with using it. Check out @ZoomTestKitchen’s livestream videos on YouTube — there are a lot of discussions about the process of setting this up, and various ways to do it.

With ZoomOSC and a Stream Deck running Companion, you can select panelists to place into Groups numbered from 1 to however many groups you need, then Spotlight them when needed simply by selecting the Group (a single button press) and then pressing the Spotlight button. If you’re doing this a lot, the workflow improvement will be with your effort.
