Question

New SPAM - Clips

Just received a new email with latest spam technique - “Clips - XYZ Company shared a clip with you”

This time there is even no unsubscribe link in the email so they can keep spamming indefinitely.

Prediction - this will become a real nuisance unless you’re willing to block no-reply@zoom.us (which would kill all legit webinar emails as well).

Zoom has a powerful trust and safety team. We can only change Zoom settings here.

If you want real change please contact them
https://www.zoom.com/en/trust/

But let me say, Zoom is not the only company wuth these issues.
I see spammers using other platforms for clips and webinars being abused too.

I’ve contacted the trust team. I got a canned response back. It was a waste of time. Do you work for Zoom, Jon? If you do, pro tip...telling paying customers that they should suck it up because the grass isn’t greener on the other side and we’ll have a terrible experience anywhere we go...that’s probably the worst response I’ve ever heard from customer service.

I am not a Zoom Employee, so I am free to speak my mind.
I am a Zoom MVP and Zoom Developer MVP and do get heard.
I agree there are issues and with my knowledge of the sytem, there are ways to help mitigate.
The more poeple report and talk about this issue, the more the platforms will take notice and do more to combat it. This is not just a Zoom issue, it is an industry issue. We have fought spammers since the internet started and with AI, we now have to build more sophisitacted tactics.
You may have seen a canned response, but every complaint is counted. it does not mean they dont care, it means they dont yet have a better answer.
Its not just fake invites and fake emails, its fake videos...etc
Spamming will flood the internet if we dont fight back

Hi everyone,

Thanks for sharing what you’ve been experiencing with these spam clips emails. We understand how disruptive this can be, particularly when you’re trying to keep your inbox clear without missing important Zoom notifications.

If you’re affected by this, please submit a report through the Trust & Safety Appeals Form. Submitting a ticket with details about your experience will give the appropriate team a chance to review the issue, assess the reports, and determine the appropriate next steps.

We appreciate you taking the time to speak up and share your feedback with the community.
