Automatically Save Closed Caption Transcript

The Auto-Generated Closed captions are a very useful tool on meetings, and I know that we have the ability to save the transcripts. I would like to see an option to automatically save the transcript of meetings, differentiated based on whether I am a participant or host. Or at least a prompt. As it currently stands if I forget to save the transcript before I leave a meeting there is no way to recover it.

This is the most bizarre thread.

    EXISTING FUNCTIONALITY:

    1. There is a button, in the Zoom app bottom navbar, called ‘Transcript’.

    2. *Any user* in the meeting can press that button at any time during the meeting.

    3. It starts live transcription of the meeting from that point, displayed in the side panel of *that user’s* Zoom client.

    4. It has *nothing to do* with hosting, recording, AI, etc; it’s totally independent.

    5. There is also a second button called ‘Save transcript’.

    6. *Any user* who pressed the first button can press the second button.

    7. When pressed, the transcript *up to that point* is saved to *that user’s* local computer as a text file.

    8. When the meeting ends, the part of the transcript from when ‘Save transcript’ was last pressed, up to the end of the meeting, IS LOST WITHOUT WARNING because it hasn’t been saved.

This is a huge pain in the butt. The only solution is to keep pressing ‘save transcript’ repeatedly.

    REQUESTED FUNCTIONALITY:

    - Once the user has pressed the ‘Save transcript’ button once, AUTOMATICALLY SAVE THE TRANSCRIPT (again) WHEN THE MEETING ENDS.

    Seriously. It’s that simple.

OMG! That just happened to me!!! I started using the transcript feature yesterday. I forgot to save the transcript for my last meeting. It was a knowledge transfer meeting and I didn't bother taking notes because of the transcript! I was sure that it was saved somewhere because it's just common sense that people might forget to save it. Well, after searching for answers in the past hour I realized that this feature is not supported!!! I am so pissed. How can something so fundamental is missing????

Yes, this is driving me crazy. I was so happy when I discovered I could get and save a transcript, as over the years, I have developed tremors in my hands which make typing difficult, and memory issues. I had been typing most of my meetings and meeting notes, which is distracting and incomplete at best, but no longer could keep up and I began to rely on the transcripts. Yet, as you've all said, if I don't save the transcript before exiting/ending the call, I lose the transcripts. Such an awful feeling and a nuisance and losing important details can affect what I do badly, personally and professionally. I can try to save them during the call, but I need the entire transcript. I really need an auto-save or at the very least, not to have the transcript disappear when I have hit the exit icon, so I can save it then or have Zoom ask me when I hit the end call icon whether I want to save the transcript. If I can auto-save a chat, why can I not auto-save a transcript? I know there is a transcript, usually not very good and very difficult to read, when you record a call, but I can't record all of my calls, especially if I don't initiate them. It also makes the fact that I am recording public and there is very limited room allotted online for the recordings, which then take time to download and cull.
I'm sure there are a lot of people like me with physical/neurological  issues who could really use this feature.
