Linux input method unusable

I am using the Linux Zoom client for taking a Vietnamese language class. I run Ubuntu 24.04 with X11. With xim or fcitx, and unikey or bamboo, the whiteboard is unusable. Whenever I hit the space bar, the cursor moves (xim) or vanishes (fcitx). The web client works fine. Should I give up on the native client, or is there a way to report this issue and get it fixed?

That sounds frustrating. It seems like a compatibility issue between Zoom’s Linux client and input methods like fcitx/xim. Since the web client works fine, that’s a reliable workaround for now. You could also report it to Zoom support or check their Linux forums/GitHub discussions issues like this sometimes get fixed with updates or community patches.

Hi, do you have a link for reporting to Zoom support? At https://support.zoom.com/hc/en/contact?id=contact_us I could only interact with a useless chatbot. Or a link to their Linux forums/Github discussions? Thanks!
