Alternative host is showing up as a dash/hyphen instead of their actual name

When I add someone as an alternative host to a webinar, they show up as a dash/hyphen instead of their actual name. They have updated their profile but it doesn’t update in the webinar under Special roles. Where can we edit this?

This sounds like a common sync issue. Zoom often pulls the display name from the user’s account profile at the time the webinar is created. Even if the user updates their profile afterward, the webinar may still show the old info until the system refreshes.

    A few things to try:

    1. Remove the alternative host and add them again after they’ve updated their profile.

    2. Make sure their Zoom account is fully verified and synced with your organization (if using a business/edu account).

    3. Check under Webinar Settings → Special Roles to see if there’s an option to refresh or update participant names.

If it still shows a hyphen, contacting Zoom Support might be necessary they can force the sync for Special Roles.
