Webinar chat incomplete

Hi, I hosted a webinar yesterday. 40 people. All were panelists. Saving chat was enabled. Recording turned on. Stored in zoom cloud. The recording was saved properly but only a tiny fraction of the chat log was saved. We had a ton of chats and want to recover the full chat. All chats were public. Everyone from the webinar wants the full chat. We have hosted 100’s of webinars before. First time this has happened. Possible to recover it?

Welcome to the Zoom Community, @Lisa25.

Only chat sent to Everyone in a Webinar is recorded to the Cloud. Chat to Panelists & Hosts, and Private chats ( one person to another) are not saved to the Cloud.

If you are missing chats sent to Everyone, can you characterize what might have been saved versus what wasn’t? What time frame was your webinar, and what are the beginning and end times of your saved chat?

It’s highly unlikely anything missing can be recovered at this point, but your only hope is to contact Zoom for assistance. If you have an account manager (Enterprise account), contact them, otherwise submit a ticket to support with all the information you have, including the info I’ve asked about. The more complete information you give, the better your chance of getting help.

Hi Ray thank you. All the chats were public. Some of the participants sent me screen shots of the chats that didnt download. Also the timestamps are completely off. I submitted a ticket and a support person has responded and escalated. Really disappointing because it was a kick off of a new course; 40 people and so much amazing inout from our audience in the chat. Im keeping my fingers crossed its still in the cloud and can be retrieved. 🤞
