Question

The webinar recording resolution changes automatically

After a recent webinar, I went to watch the recording and noticed that the resolution isn't 1920x1080. This keeps happening. How can I fix this? I want to record my webinars exclusively in 1920x1080.

    hi @IDS SPB 10 ,

When you setup the webinar, did you specify it as HD 1080. The option is at the end of content when you create a webinar.

    hi! @ExpertswhoJohn,

When creating a webinar or conference, I always specify Full hd, but this does not affect the recording in any way. Is it possible that the application automatically selects a convenient resolution? Keep in mind that if I am sharing my screen, my Windows settings always display a resolution of 1920:1080.

A couple observations that might be helpful here:

    • As John noted, Full HD needs to be enabled when configuring the webinar, even if it’s a default on the account being used to book said webinar. Seems like you’re on top of this already.
    • 1920x1080 requires certain baseline conditions to be met. Some of these are published, some of these are not. This article (https://support.zoom.com/hc/en/article?id=zm_kb&sysparm_article=KB0057547) is a good place to start.
    • For most consistent results, the Zoom Cloud MMR needs to have far-end endpoints requesting 1920x1080 to ensure the cloud recordings hit this resolution. Zoom is a bandwidth Scrooge and if nobody on the call is explicitly requesting hi-res (non-maximized windows, viewing content proportionally larger than camera feeds, etc) With this being said, it’s important to have at least one participant maximize their view of the active speaker and put this into full-screen. If you’re monitoring the webinar in real-time and you can get a ‘receive’ resolution to hit 1080, there is a close to 100% chance your cloud recording will be in 1080 as well.
