Thanks for reaching out, great question.
In Zoom Webinars, chat messages can only be saved during the live session unless certain settings were enabled beforehand. That said, there are a couple of places we can check:
1. If the webinar was recorded to the cloud
If you used cloud recording, chat messages may be included:
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal
- Go to Recordings → Cloud Recordings
- Select your webinar session
- Look for a “Chat” file available for download
2. If chat auto-save was enabled
If the setting to automatically save in-meeting chat was turned on prior to the webinar, the chat file may have been saved locally on the host’s computer.
If neither of the above applies, unfortunately Zoom does not store or allow retrieval of webinar chat messages after the session ends.
For future webinars, I recommend:
- Enabling auto-save chat
- Assigning a co-host to manually save chat during the session
- Using cloud recording to ensure chat is captured
