Question

breakout sessions in a webinar

previously you had to use a meeting to host several breakout sessions.

Has that changed at all - can we now use a webinar to host breakout sessions?

If we can - do we have to have the event license?

Does anyone know if you can purchase that for a month or is it a yearly commitment?

    Hi @Webinar Host,

We’re glad to have you here. Welcome to Zoom Community!

You can now use breakout rooms in both Zoom Meetings and Zoom Webinars. For webinars, breakout rooms are available if you have an event license, such as Zoom Events Unlimited, Zoom Webinars Plus Unlimited, or Pay Per Attendee.

The specific commitment (monthly or yearly), you may need to check your Zoom account's billing options or contact Zoom Sales for exact purchase terms.

    References:

    • Breakout rooms in webinars: Hosts and co-hosts can split attendees into up to 200 breakout sessions, with similar capabilities as meetings.
    • Event license required: Zoom Events Unlimited, Zoom Webinars Plus Unlimited, or Pay Per Attendee.
