Corrected on our devices by reverting to an old version

I had the same problem. I went from Version 6.5.1 to 6.4.3. At least it seems to have installed correctly without any error message. I'm keeping my fingers crossed on whether everything works correctly for a meeting this evening.

Zoom's written in qt6. Seems that API of windows_10_ltsb_2016 doesn't support "get/setthreaddescription", but qt6 requires that functions recently. New version of Viber has the similar issue.

Failed versions:

6.5.1.6476

6.5.0.6118

Working versions:

6.4.12.64384

Zoom support case raised, the first answer from probably first line support was to refer to this article:

https://support.zoom.com/hc/en/article?id=zm_kb&sysparm_article=KB0070085

Where they ask to "reinstall Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Service Pack 1."

This is annoying if we have to do that... I've asked to escalate it.

@MGSR I have updated to the latest again & tried the Zoom article KB0070085 that (WinZoomer) mentioned to which the issue persisted. We have reverted back to an older version again.

Have the same issue since the June and July monthly updates we do for the Zoom.  Going back to the May release 6.4.x fixes the issue.  I have a case open - TS1915522, that is going no where.  Please help.

Still experiencing this issue on Windows LTSB 2016, which is supported by Microsoft until October 2026.  Downgrading is not a long term solution, due to Zoom's quarterly lifecycle policy https://support.zoom.com/hc/en/article?id=zm_kb&sysparm_article=KB0061130

The issue was introduced on Windows zoom client 6.5.0 where we used the Windows system API GetThreadDescription, while we found that the Windows system DLL kernel32.dll does not contain this function on some old OS, we will fix it on zoom client 6.5.10 which is scheduled for August 18th. Workaround is to install zoom clients older than 6.5.0.
