Is the time limit on a group meeting based on the host's user license? (not the participants?)

Yes, the Host's account applies.  Free account is limited to 40 minutes if more than 2 participants, even if the participants have Pro or higher accounts.  Most all of Zoom depends on the Host's account privileges.

Ray -- Happy holidays, everyone! I’m taking a few days (mostly) off. See you in 2025!

We have the basic plan and our meetings are timed out after 40 minutes.

How do we get this changed?

Welcome to the Zoom Community, @IndyWomen.

Basic (free) accounts are limited to 40 minutes, and have a 10-minute waiting period before being able to start a new meeting.

Upgrade your account to Pro for $14.99USD/month or $149.90USD/year (save $29.98). Log into your Zoom account and visit this page: https://zoom.us/pricing

Select monthly or annual pricing and click But Note or Upgrade under the Pro heading:
