Can access Zoom

I just purchase a new Macbook air, I downloaded zoom but when I try to access zoom I get a message saying  installation failed. An error occurred during installation. Any suggestions why im getting this message over and over?

LC8 provided a solution which worked.

LC8 found a fix. LC8 went into settings and gave permission for installer to access LC8 downloads folder. The installation worked straight away after that.

 

LC8 went into settings, Privacy and Security, Files and Folders, then clicked on an arrow to the left of installer, which brings up the option to allow access to the downloads folder. This needs to be toggled on.

Hello Eliot, Thank you for your time. I'm another person that has the exact same problem as Romydib above. I tried the solution you suggested. I went through the steps to toggle allow access to downloads folder but nothing changed for me. This issue is that I cannot even open the old zoom app that keeps giving the message "Installation Failed". Since I cannot open it, I cannot uninstall it. I have now installed zoom three more times but still only see the one and only zoom icon that keeps giving the same failed message. Each new installation says, Installation successful but nothing changes. Don't know what else to do. Thanks for any help on this. Most appreciated. M.
