Hide participant name on video

In previous Zoom versions it was possible to uncheck the option "Always display participant names on their video",  and no name was displayed on video. It seems that on version 5.9.3 this is not an option anymore, even if I uncheck, the participant name is shown on video. Totally excluding the participant name is also not possible anymore. Is there another way of hiding the participant name on video on the current Zoom version?

Can you tell us which OS you are running the latest version of Zoom on? I have both a mac and PC, and am able to check/uncheck the Always display participant names on their video option with no issues on either. Perhaps a quick uninstall/reinstall might help fix it?

I'm running Windows 11 and having the same problems not able to hide the participants names even when checked.  I need it especially when recording.  Will there be an upgrade to correct this problem?

I am also having the same issue, on 2 different M1 Mac's both running the M1 version of Zoom and an intel based iMac on the normal 5.9.3 version.

Same issue here. Intel MacOS running Zoom 5.9.3. Names are permanently added to the bottom left-hand corner of locally-recorded videos. I have another Mac running Zoom 5.9.1 and names are excluded from the locally-recorded videos. I'd prefer to not record the names as it means I have to remove them afterwards.

I am having the same problem, under Windows 10, Zoom 5.9.3

This creates a serious issue with recordings.

I would like to know if it is a bug or a feature.  If it is a bug, there is hope that it will be fixed in a future release.  If it is a feature we are doomed.

Yes. I always had my account set to hide the attendees' names in our recordings, for their privacy. Please fix this!!

Also running Windows 10 and version 5.9.3.

Having this issue as well... Intel MacOSX Big Sur 11.6.4 on MacBook Pro and iMac, Zoom version 5.9.3. Able to change the checkbox status, but it doesn't affect the video, records names into it whichever checkbox state. Please update with a fix!

I have tried out and found that they still have not fixed this in the latest update 5.9.6, so I rolled back to 5.9.1 as I have kept that version.  This is on both M1 and my Intel Macs

Same issue. Downgraded to 5.9.1, and created a support ticket. All works well with the 5.9.1 for me.

Zoom support gave me this link for ARM Macs:

    https://zoom.us/client/5.9.1.3506/Zoom.pkg?archType=arm64

And this one for regular Intel Macs:

    https://zoom.us/client/5.9.1.3506/Zoom.pkg

I'd rather get the downgrade from the source...

I downgraded to 5.9.1 and I'll stay there until they fix it.

Same issue here! I need a clean recording with no names on it, I add custom graphics with partipants names in post. I hope zoom fixes this.

I've noticed just now that I have the same issue. And I have the "Always display participant names on their video" box unchecked. This did not happen previously. So we're almost in May and it's still not fixed. Now, when I add their names in the custom graphics I use, it will look weird and unprofessional. C'mon Zoom!

I have the same problem. Hope this will be solved soon. I don´t want to have the names appearing on the recorded screen. as i have to make additional editions.
