ZR Digital signage in portrait orientation

We use have a handful of digital signages installed with TVs rotated 90 degrees in portrait orientation. It appears that Zoom as of v6.7.5 that there is new ability to control the orientation of digital signage using the Zoom admin portal.

We are seeing that despite the orientation changes, that the app is auto reorienting the display to standard rotation.

As a workaround for now, I am reverting to v6.3.5 but I am posting this here to see if Zoom is aware of issues with this new feature and if there are plans to address it.

For note, we are an Apple exclusive shop with the issue occurring on Apple silicon Mac minis.

Thanks!

hi @canyonpark

Zoom thinks in landscape. Even when I do Zoom shorts in portrait, I get black bars to the sides

But I know they are working towards a portrait world too, but I think it will take time.
thank you for bringing this up. - I will have a look on my setup and submit to engineering

We’ve manually ran in portrait orientation but this latest update allows Zoom to take control but it seems like it introduced a new bug instead of a feature.

Yes, it happens.
Sometimes we use Zoom, but not in the way they intended….and then they upgrade and break what we were doing,

I also have mac mini here I was already planning to upgrade to a Rooms Device.

having the same issue, uninstalling and reinstalling an older version works, but mine keep auto updating. These are windows 11 boxes.

I’m having the same problem in a Zoom room. The portrait (flipped) display keeps reverting to landscape. Version 6.7.5 on Windows

I put in a ticket and it’s a confirmed bug. The solution is to roll back to the previous version 6.7.0. The bug will be fixed in release 7.0.0 coming March 29.

Anyone find a fix for this, I have tried to disable autoupdate a few different ways and nothing seems to be working
