Poly TC10 connected to HP Windows 11 IOT Mini PC for Zoom Rooms as a Touch Controller

Trying to connect a HP/Poly TC10 to an HP Mini PC G9 with Zooms Rooms and Windows 11 IOT as a Controller.

Fails as a Controller when selecting "Controller" or through "Standalone" setup. It is successful as a "Display" going thru the Standalone process. Each were obviously preceded by a Factory Reset.

In the very 1st attempt straight from the box the TC10 persisted in the "waiting to connect" state, even though the PC were on the same Ethernet network. The HP PC is a G9 but a guy from HP/Poly support said the PC had to be a G9+ to support a Direct Connection to the G9+ POE port "purple" (which the G9 does not have).

From the PC ZoomAdmin the TC10 is recognized as a device and reads the MAC address.

That support guy didn't really know what he is talking about 😅
HP Poly G9+ is a set dedicated for Teams Rooms, not Zoom Rooms. But it is true, that in that configuration you would connect TC10 to purple port.

For Zoom Room however you have other version of G9 compute, with no color coded ports (like you mentioned). So in general TC10 should be connected to the same network as your compute device and then you need to select "stand-alone mode".

I did all that without success. Then from the ZoomRoomsAdmin login on the PC I went to the Windows 11 IOT Enterprise system Update menu. There were a gazillion updates that included Windows 11, HP Bios, Intel, Audio, etc. It seemed better after that. It finally connected to the TC10. Something still isn't right with Zoom Rooms, though. I get a message that the room is Unlicensed. It may have something to do with one BYOD camera (PTZOptics Move SE - not Zoom Room Certified), so I'm getting a Poly Studio E60 camera, which is. We'll see.

Connected camera should have nothing to do with that.
It's saying unlincensed, because you have done only the first step. Now that both devices are paired with each other, you need to register you device to Zoom Room account. Go to Admin panel in your Zoom account, then Rooms Management > Zoom Rooms and create new Zoom Room (for shared spaces). With that you can get an activation code that you have to enter on your Zoom Room.
