How to restrict audio devices in settings?

Here's a common situation:

  • User in Zoom Room joins meeting from laptop and then room. Despite large "Do not Join from laptop" sign.
    Audio feedback chaos ensues.
  • Zoom user goes to settings on Zoom controller and changes speaker. Room audio is now coming out of the projector instead of room speakers.
  • User then changes microphone input. Room no has no functional microphone.
  • User leaves the mess for the next confused user.
  • This is a university so there are thousands of users. Training is not an option.
  • I don't have local access to the room. It's a long drive.

I'd love to be able to restrict audio devices from Room Profile page. I can select audio devices and fix it remotely, but I can't restrict choices remotely.

Changes to speaker/mic via Zoom Rooms Controllers require a passcode by default - either the default passcode is too widely circulated and your users know it, or the password needs to be enabled.

These can be set/locked at either the account-level, or any level further downstream.
