Question

Zoom Phone Audio

Our community has a couple of elderly members who do not have computers and struggle to connect using the telephone connection method. We added Zoom Phone to our plan hoping that, after we had started our Zoom call with other members of the community, we could simply call our two elderly members. We discovered that when they connected nobody else in the Zoom room could hear them. I tried to understand some of the ways to merge the call, but it seems like it is only if everyone is on the phone. Is there a way to use both Zoom Phone and the Zoom Room at the same time?

One approach comes to mind. I’m certain someone else might have an alternative. This is not going to be easy though. Maybe start the meeting from the Zoom app then move it over to the Zoom room. But before that, during the video and audio setup, choose to take the audio over phone call which will provide a list of call in numbers for everyone to call into. Then have a separate phone in the location of the Zoom room to call the dial in number as well. That should keep the audio separate from the Zoom room and everyone including the room phone would be on the phone call. I’ll play around see if I can find something else but thinking out loud, that’s what I would do.

hi @sparrow @DeSales

you might try using zoom phone to dial into the Zoom meeting and then add your elderly members to your call.

Using Zoom Phone multi-party conferencing calls
