Zoom Node - Phone Local Survivability on Proxmox

Hi everyone,

regarding the high increase of costs for VMware licenses many vendors modified and released their products for alternative hypervisors. Will Zoom also support alternative hypervisors for node?

I would like to test Zoom Node - Phone Local Survivability on Proxmox in our lab.

Best regards, Steve

hi @Steve_DT

According to Release Notes for Zoom node dated July 20, 2025,

“Account owners and admins can download and deploy Zoom Node virtual machines directly within their Nutanix environment. The system supports standard Nutanix deployment workflows and management tools, maintaining consistency with existing virtual infrastructure practices. Zoom Node's virtualization compatibility extends beyond traditional OVA and QCOW formats to accommodate Nutanix-specific requirements.”

I did not find any mention of Proxmox.

Hi @Eliot

Thanks. I did not read the release notes. That is interesting. I know the system requirements and read the mentioned KVM hypervisor note but I was not aware that any third party solutions (nutanix) are supported.

The next question is: Will we get support from Zoom (ticket) if we find a bug with Zoom Node on Proxmox even though the VM is deployed on Proxmox?

Hi Steve, that's a great question. With the changing licensing costs, support for alternative hypervisors like Proxmox would be a valuable addition. Hopefully Zoom will consider broader compatibility in future updates, testing on Proxmox seems like a great move!
