    Hi @JOHN MCCREERY ,

Thank you for reporting the issue with your user's desk phone needing frequent reboots to reconnect to the Zoom app, along with the "Unable to connect desk phone, try again later" error message.

To get this properly investigated and resolved, I'd recommend opening a Support ticket with Zoom so our technical team can dig into the logs and identify the root cause. When submitting the ticket, it would help to include:

    • The affected user's name/email
    • Desk phone make and model
    • Firmware version (if known)
    • Connection type (Wi-Fi or Ethernet)
    • Approximate date/time(s) the error occurs
    • Any relevant logs or screenshots of the error message

Please open a ticket through the Zoom Support portal or using this link.

    Hope this helps!

    hi @JOHN MCCREERY

    @Tash_Balaguer  makes sound recommendations.

    Three quick things to check:

    1. Do your other T44W desk phones have the same issues?
    2. Is the T44W on 108.87.3.1 Yealink firmware for Zoom Phone?   If not, factory reset and install 108.87.3.1 (current as of 10/3/2026).

    Resetting to factory default (Yealink)

    Zoom Phone Certified Hardware

    Yealink assisted provisioning guide

    1. Check existing T44W wired Ethernet connection or WiFi connection for packet loss, speed, latency, and jitter.  Also check VLAN settings if applicable.  If connection is WiFi, try different access point and wired connections.  If connection is Ethernet, try connecting the T44W to a different port and switch and replacing the T44W Ethernet cable.

Using the Zoom Network Connectivity Tool

    thanks,  eliot

    1. It looks like all phones are having the issue.  Most of our users either use the workplace app or the phone not both together.  As I started looking at this I also noticed that I could not IP into any of our phones until I did a resync or reboot of the phone.  Once I resync the phone I was able to get it to work with the app and I was also able to IP into it.
    2. I have done a factory reset on the phones that I have been working with so they should be on the latest firmware.
    3. We just installed this system at the end of last year and all of our phone were purchased at that time.

We have set one of our phones to a static DHCP Reservation and we are going to monitor.  Just not a great fix for 700 plus phones.

We are still monitoring the user that was complaining the most.  She has been out the last couple days so it will be the first part of next week before we know anything.

    hi @JOHN MCCREERY

Yealink custom firmware required to use Yealink desk phones on Zoom Phone.
Yealink phone models require a custom firmware that is built specifically for Zoom Phone, while certified IP phones from other manufacturers use the firmware that comes from those vendors and isn't specific to Zoom Phone.  All Yealink firmware for Yealink desk phones used on Zoom Phone indicates a “3” in the third number in the firmware version number.

Yealink firmware version number 108.87.3.1 is structured as follows:

    Number

    Meaning

    Explanation

    108

    Firmware platform / device family

Identifies the firmware platform associated with a family of Yealink T4-series phones. It is not exclusive to the T44W.

    87

    Major firmware release

Identifies Yealink's V87 firmware generation, which includes security and functionality updates.

    3

    Customized firmware

Yealink identifies a third component of 3 as customized firmware rather than its standard generic firmware.

    1

    Build or revision

Identifies a particular release/build within that customized V87 firmware branch.

Check to see that 108.87.3.1 firmware (current as of 10/12/2026) is installed on each of your T44W desk phones.

    Zoom Phone Certified Hardware

For Zero Touch Provisioning to work, the desk phone first must be assigned to a Zoom Phone or Contact Center extension such as a user, common area phone, etc.  When you assign a new Yealink desk phone to a Zoom Phone extension, Zoom in near real time updates Yealink’s ZTP database.  When you connect the phone to the network, the phone automatically calls home to Yealink.  If the phone is assigned Zoom Phone, Yealink sends the Yealink phone to Zoom for firmware and provisioning.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,  eliot

This sounds like a registration or connectivity issue between the Yealink T44W and Zoom Phone. I’d start by checking whether the phone’s firmware is up to date and whether its network connection remains stable when the issue occurs. It may also help to verify the device’s provisioning status in the Zoom admin portal and check whether the problem affects only this user or other desk phones as well. If rebooting temporarily fixes the issue, reviewing the phone logs around the time of disconnection could help identify the underlying cause.

    Hi @JOHN MCCREERY

With 700 Yealink T44W desk phones, how many are experiencing loosing connection to the ZOOM Phone?  How are the phones loosing connection connected to Zoom Phone such as Ethernet or WiFi, VLAN, and powered such as POE and or PSU?

These phones on Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af), class 3 take 2 watts to 5.2 watts each and maybe more with side cards. Yealink SIP-T44W Datasheet | Yealink Support  Are there any power issues?

I agree with @Tash_Balaguer suggestion to open a support ticket with Zoom.

You could also open support ticket with Yealink.

    thanks,  eliot

I also made this change the other day but I still had to reboot the phone to get access to it.  I have tried phones at multiple site today and do not have a problem.
