Removing phone numbers from our Zoom Phone accout so a specific new Zoom Phone account can use them.

We have a company that is taking over their own Zoom Phone account. I need to remove the numbers from my account so that they can add them to their account. Is there a way to guarantee that their specific company receives the numbers. Do I start by deleting the numbers, do they need to initiate a port…

Thank you,

Scarlett

    Hello @sknight747

100% in alignment with @aluyun recommendation, which is the only guaranteed way of doing it. Now, porting from one Zoom account to another Zoom account might make the process going much faster, but you still must do it.

This document show the process for US porting, but it is a country-case one

The company “gaining” the numbers should follow below document:

    PORT INhttps://support.zoom.com/hc/en/article?id=zm_kb&sysparm_article=KB0062348

The company “losing” the numbers should follow below document:

    PORT OUT: https://support.zoom.com/hc/en/article?id=zm_kb&sysparm_article=KB0068195

You can also take a look to this “Best Practices” document:: https://support.zoom.com/hc/en/article?id=zm_kb&sysparm_article=KB0061279

    I hope this helps.

    Hi @sknight747,

Thank you for you post. To make sure that specific company ends up with those Zoom Phone numbers, you generally should NOT delete the numbers first. Deleting only releases/removes them from your account—it doesn’t transfer them to another Zoom Phone account.

Instead, the correct approach is to do a number port (a porting request) so the numbers are transferred to the receiving company’s account in a controlled way. The receiving company should initiate the porting request, and Zoom coordinates the transfer so the numbers land on the intended account.

We’re glad to have you here. I hope this helps!
