Not receiving inbound calls from landlines

We have a number of clients and prospects that call us from traditional landlines.

We have discovered recently that many of them are unable to get through to our Zoom phone service.  They are either just disconnected, or they receive a message that says they cannot be connected.  It happens across multiple landline carriers both intra and interstate.  We receive no indication that these calls were ever attempted.  VOIP callers and cell phone callers have no problem.  Anyone else having this problem?  Anyone found a fix?

Thanks.

Eric

    hi @Eric Bahr

There can be several reasons for not receiving inbound calls from landlines.

It may be that these clients and prospects are calling the wrong number.  If they are getting your numbers from your website, advertising, or print media, check to see if these sources are correct as to your numbers.  Check with your prospects and clients as to which of your telephone numbers they are calling and experience issues with connecting.

Check that the clients and prospects are calling numbers:

    1. assigned to your auto receptionist, call queue, shared line group, common area phone or zoom phone users;  and
    2. have the correct business hours in the associated auto receptionist, call queue, shared line group, common area phone or zoom phone users

Check to see if your Zoom Phone telephone numbers have been blocked by their landline carriers.  Have your customers that experience issues with calling your Zoom Phone telephone number add your Zoom Phone telephone number to their telephone address book.

Check to see that the callers’ numbers are not blocked on your Zoom Phone system.

Check to see that the callers’ numbers are not being blocked by your scam settings.

Some landline carriers using time division multiplexing (TDM) do not comply with the Federal Communications Commission STIR SHAKEN and may be identified as spam.
