I've been using Skype phone service for 10 years and need a cost comparable replacement because of high medical expenses. I bought a metered phone from Zoom 9 days ago on July 11th. I used a credit card and a sales representative. He gave me a numbered procedure to set up my phone and took off from our chat before walking me through the process. The procedure he gave me doesn't work and never shows me "click on setup" or "Start setup" I've been waiting forever and ever for answers. I need to do this on chat. I get emails that they will be contacting me "soon" and soon never arrives.

    Hi Dentt;
    I assume you're the administrator or owner of the account—is that correct?


    If yes, we need to make sure that you have the appropriate licenses on the account.


    You should go to the follow menu:
    zoom.us/account/setting


    Check, on the right side, that some Zoom Phone licenses are activated, example:

    Zoom Phone metered
    Zoom Phone US & Canada Calling
    Zoom Phone additional DID
    Zoom Phone Pay as your Go Plan
    etc.


    If you have one of those licenses, the Phone System Management section should appear under the Admin menu. There, you should see the option to activate telephony, which will make the configuration menus available.

    I don't need licenses. I just needed a phone. The issue has finally been resolved to a certain degree.

    The problem has been solved to point I can make calls. I finally reached a person after 2 weeks and there was a glitch on the cc transaction. I had to redo it. From there the setup was easy.

    One part of the issue is resolved. I have no idea when somebody is calling me, even if I'm online at that moment. I need to get that issue resolved. My last comment didn't post. I hope this one does.

    I can make a call, but a call came at about 10PM this evening and I was on the computer and could have answered it immediately, but I didn't get a ring or an alert a call to me was happening, like I always did with Skype. I got a voice mail transcript on an email, which is nice. But If I didn't check my email I wouldn't have known I'd gotten a call.  So that needs to be resolved among other things.
