Live Transcription

I reached out to support but the confirmed this is not possible currently. We answer phones on a physical phone, but to help assist the staff answering the phone we were hoping the use the call summary and live transcription features in the app. It is not currently possible if the app is paired to the phone and the phone answers to the call to get those features.

Hello @pdavis41 . I don't the reasons you have for the people using desktop phone to handle calls if they need to use the App anyway.

Is the physical phone a VoIP phone (as in Zoom Phone)? or you are redirecting calls to an external telephone line (i.e. Mobile number?)

If it is the first one, by reading the Zoom documentation about Live Call Transcription you can see the prerequisite is to have the Zoom App; if it is the second one, because I believe you still control the call from the App, I encourage you to test it in case you haven't done so.

 

Let me know if it worked. If not, definitely it is working as designed and depicted in the Zoom Documentation.

I have been trying to figure out why this isn't working, so thanks for confirming. Yes, it seems if your desktop app is connected to your desk phone, live transcripts don't work at all. Zoom, please can you add this to a usable feature.
