Duplicate SMS Messages in Zoom Phone Group Text Threads
We are using Zoom Phone SMS for ongoing group text communications that include multiple staff members (2 internal Zoom numbers & 1 Google Voice number) and clients (typically 1–2 external numbers). Most threads contain 4–5 total participants.
We are consistently experiencing duplicate inbound messages within Zoom Phone group SMS threads. The duplicates appear only within Zoom — not on the clients’ devices or on our personal mobile devices.
To test, we ran a controlled experiment using:

Two Zoom Phone numbers

One Android device
-
One iPhone
When messages were sent within the group thread:

The personal mobile devices did not receive duplicates.

Zoom Phone was the only platform displaying duplicate messages.
This suggests the duplication is occurring within Zoom Phone rather than from the carrier or external devices.
Has anyone encountered this issue? Is there a known setting, configuration, or limitation related to group SMS threads that could be causing duplicate message delivery within Zoom?
The duplicates are making it difficult to track conversation flow accurately.
